SAN FRANCISCO, May 02, (THEWILL) – Wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, has declared that the health of her husband, the President, is not as bad as being perceived.
Buhari, who returned from the UK on March 10 after an extended medical vacation, has made only a few public appearances lately, fuelling speculation about.
THEWILL recalls that the President was absent at two consecutive meetings of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and was not seen on Friday at the mosque in the Villa for prayers.
This fuelled speculations about the President’s health with some Nigerians calling for him to go on a medical vacation.
However, Aisha, in a series of tweets on Tuesday insisted that his health is not that bad.
She revealed that the President had continued to carry out his responsibilities, and confirmed that he met with the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, and the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, on Tuesday evening.
“I thank all Nigerians for their concern, love and prayers over my husband’s health status,” she tweeted @aishambuhari.
“I wish to inform everyone that his health is not as bad as it’s being perceived, meanwhile he continues to carry out his responsibilities.
“during this period. As it may come to your notice, he is meeting with Minister of Justice and GMD of NNPC this evening.
“Long live Nigerians, long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
