Danny Trejo Posts His "Lost" 'Star Wars' Audition Tape

Danny Trejo “auditions” for ‘Star Wars’.

It seems Machete was going for a softer role when he went out for ‘A New Hope.’

Nailed it.

Danny Trejo on Thursday got in the fun with everyone else celebrating Star Wars Day by posting his “lost” Star Wars audition tape.

The actor has played a badass in numerous films, including Heat, Con Air, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and Machete, among others, but it seems he was going for a softer role when he “auditioned” for A New Hope

In the short clip, Trejo, wearing Princess Leia buns, delivers the classic line, “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”

Almost as soon as the line is out, Trejo cracks up laughing.

Trejo, who has more than 310,000 Twitter followers, is something of a social media Jedi himself, often posting fun memes and GIFs fans made of him from some of his most classic roles.
