The public event at Forest Lawn Cemetery will feature music by ‘Star Wars’ composer John Williams and family friend James Blunt.
A public memorial service is being held for Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher on Saturday.
The event will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, where the mother and daughter are buried. It will begin at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET. and will be livestreamed below and on DebbieReynolds.com.
The ceremony will feature music by Star Wars composer John Williams, as well as an original tribute song by family friend James Blunt over a photo montage. The service also includes performances by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles and the Debbie Reynolds dance school. Costumes and memorabilia will be on display throughout the Hall of Liberty, which seats 1,200 people and will accommodate guest overflow in the lobby and outside.
Immediately after the service, fans are invited to pay tribute at Fisher and Reynolds’ final resting place.
The joint appreciation takes place after the deaths of Reynolds and Fisher in late December, one day apart from each other. The public event follows a private joint memorial for Reynolds and Fisher, which was attended by close family and friends, took place on Jan. 5.
