Hillary and Bill Clinton’s 22-year-old nephew may be the only professional model in the fam, but he’s not the only one with skills.
Exhibit A: Below, we see the former Democratic candidate for president, Mrs. Hillary Clinton, posing in a bronze-y metallic coat and khaki pants while attending the 8th Annual Women of the World Summit in New York last week.
But it’s the shoes —a pair of dusty pink pumps complete with a chunky Lucite heel filled with glittering gold moons and stars — that stole the show. The style is called “The Hillary,” and yep, they’re named after the woman herself by her friend/vociferous supporter, Katy Perry. The “power pump” is part of the singer’s debut 40-piece footwear collection, and are now available online for $139.
Perry, who named several styles in her debut collection after famous friends, including Lena Dunham and Allison Williams, posted the photo to her Instagram account with the caption, “POWER PUMP your way over to katyperrycollections.com for the last few hours of the spring 25% sale.” She added, “@HillaryClinton is wearing #TheHillary (OMG I LOVE HER SO MUCH).”
Months after her loss last November, Clinton has crept back into the public eye, attending not only the women’s summit, where she delivered a speech on her fears for the future, but also making appearances at the opening night of Broadway’s War Paint, the story of dueling cosmetic mavens Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubenstein, as well as at the Vital Voices Leadership Global Awards and the Girls Inc. Luncheon.
In addition to promoting her shoe collection, Perry has been making a splash for her drastic hair makeovers (she recently revealed a bleached buzz cut a la Kristen Stewart just weeks after making a severe chop), as well as her one line comebacks to the rumors that she has been dating Ryan Phillippe.
After Phillippe tweeted to the world that he was not, as tabloids alleged, dating Perry, and asked that members of the media call off the helicopters circling his house in search of the singer, Perry herself replied to the tweet with sharp humor.
