Hook should be applauded for Moylan decision

The Loz and Dog Show: Round 85:44

Laurie Daley and Dean Ritchie discuss how Loz prepares for Origin and whether trouble is brewing at Penrith.

The Loz and Dog Show.

EARLY favourites Penrith have been far from convincing to begin their 2017 premiership campaign but NSW coach Laurie Daley isn’t willing to write them off.

Daley said the Panthers look like a side lacking in confidence but expected them to bounce back sooner rather than later.

“I think the simple fact is they are not playing with any confidence at the moment … what tends to happen is when you’re a side with plenty of expectation and a few things go wrong people start to delve into it,” he said.

“It’s a funny thing confidence, one you get it you can do exciting things.”

Daley also said coach Anthony Griffin should be ‘applauded’ for his decision to dump captain Matt Moylan for breaching team protocol.

“The only ones who can answer that are the clubs themselves and what standards and values they place upon someone doing the wrong thing.

“Again every club is different, every coach is different and if that’s the way they do it out at Penrith the coach has to be applauded.”

Dean Ritchie and Blues coach Daley also discuss how NSW are tracking with State of Origin only six weeks away. You can watch in the player above.

CALL TO ARMS: “There’s no better way to support the NSW VB Blues than by being at Origin as a part of The Star-backed Blatchys Blues. Secure your seats today to witness history … and experience Origin like never before.”
