The queen of Ile-Ife, queen Zaynab Wuraola Ogunwusi yesterday paid an evening visit to Sabo, the scene of the recent Ife Clash between the Yoruba and Hausa community.
She explained the visit was to ensure peace reign once again in the ancient town and between the two communities.
She also expressed her sadness and displeasure at the occurrence of the crisis.
The queen addressed the leaders of the Hausa community and appealed to them to give peace anther chance. She urged Hausa and Yoruba traders to continue living in unity and peace.
The hausa traders on their part, promised to unite with the yoruba traders.
An Hausa trader who was part of those who received the queen, Alhaji Umar Abubakar said he was happy that the queen came to see them.
He vowed that his co-colleagues and every other Hausa will ensure that peace reign between them and the Yoruba traders again.
Also a Yoruba trader, Miss Funmilayo Olalekan said the Hausa traders and the Yoruba traders are now in good terms as at before.
She expressed gratitude to the Queen for coming to the market to sue for peace.
