The New Regency project’s A-list cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Liam Neeson and Collin Farrell.
Jacki Weaver is the latest to join the all-star cast of Steve McQueen’s heist thriller Widows.
The two-time Oscar nominee will share the screen with Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Collin Farrell, Robert Duvall and Michelle Rodriguez. Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya is also set to star.
Based on the 1980s British TV series, Widows centers on the wives of armed robbers gunned down, who decide to finish the job their spouses started.
McQueen and Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn are co-writing the feature, which is being produced by See-Saw Films’ Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, the duo behind best picture Oscar-winner The King’s Speech and nominee Lion.
Widows is set to hit theaters on Nov 16, 2018, via 20th Century Fox, who is co-financing the film with New Regency and Film4.
Weaver is set to play Melissa McCarthy’s mom in college comedy Life of the Party and will next star in James Franco’s yet-to-be-dated New Line feature The Disaster Artist.
She is repped by ICM, Elevate and Felker Toczek.
