Kogi Cattle Rearers Association chairman’s suspected killer arrested

One of the killers of the Kogi  State Wuro Myetty Allah Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Jalido, has been arrested by the Kogi State Command of the Nigerian Police.

Umar Abubakar was among twenty suspects paraded yesterday by the Kogi State Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu.

He was said to be actively involved in the assassination of Ibrahim Jalido late last year.

Alhaji Ibrahim Jalido who was the chairman of Kogi Myetty Allah cattle rearers Association was murdered in his home in Lokoja in the presence of his two wives in the middle of the night.

The commissioner said that the arrests were as a result of the strategies put in place to address the security challenge in the state.

“On my assumption of duty as the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, I met a challenging security situation. And the need for me to urgently do something about kidnapping, Armed robbery, especially along the highways led me to introduce some new strategies in curtailing criminality.”

According to him, the strategies put in place had started yielding fruitful results as evident in the arrests, adding that the command would not relent in their bid to rid the state of criminals.
