Liberian presidential hopeful George Weah visited Nigeria over the weekend to attend a church service held by Pastor T.B. Joshua.
The service was held on Sunday at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos.
Mr. Weah, accompanied by Prince Yormie Johnson, a Liberian senator and former warlord, also had a meeting with the celebrity pastor.
Mr. Joshua said that he would not choose sides in the election, saying that only God could choose the winner.
“We are not herbalists or witch-doctors; we are people of God. God’s choice is our choice. We cannot pray against God’s will.
“Without God’s corresponding power, we cannot pray to Him. For every step we take, every movement and action, intimation comes first,” he said.
The Liberian presidential election was held on October 10 and featured twenty candidates. The former soccer star topped the poll with 39 percent of the vote while Vice President Joseph Boakai came in second with 29.1 percent.
Because neither candidate won 50 percent in the first round, the two will face off in a runoff election on November 7.
