Ogun police arrest two for armed robbery

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two men, Adigun John popularly known as  Akoto and Idowu kalejaye for alleged armed robbery.

The suspects were said to have been arrested on Thursday  23rd March, 2017, following a distress call to policemen attached to Ogijo Divisional headquarters that a robbery operation was going on in a bakery in the Eyita area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, added that the DPO,  Tijani Muhammad, led the Anti- robbery team to the scene and engaged the robbers in a shoot out.

He said at the end of the encounter, the two suspects were arrested and a locally- made cut to size gun was recovered from them.

Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police said, the suspects robbed the owner of the bakery, Taiwo Ogunyemi of N2,000 and a cell phone.

He said, “They also robbed a customer, one Bose Agboola of the sum of N15,000.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation.
