The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists to avoid over speeding, in order to reduce road accidents across Nigeria.
The Lagos State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Hyginus Omeje, made the appeal on Tuesday while giving an update on a lone accident that occurred at the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State.
The mishap, which took place on Monday, involved a commercial bus which summersaulted and burst into flames, killing five people.
Mr Omeje said five other people who survived the accident have been taken to different hospitals in the state for treatment.
He warned motorists to be more careful, saying any driver that causes an accident is liable to prosecution.
