REALITY TV’s most controversial couple, The Hills’ Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, have announced they’re expecting a baby.

Montag told Us Weekly she is due on October 19, and was “overwhelmed” when she shared the news with her husband of eight years.

“I started crying, and he embraced me,” the former MTV starlet recalled.

Pratt said Montag has always wanted to be a mother.

“Heidi has wanted to be a mum since the day I met her,” he told the magazine. “She has planned for and thought about this.”

The former reality TV villains, who rose to fame on The Hills, said they agreed it was time to grow their family.

“I wanted a baby three years ago,” said Montag. “Spencer was a little hesitant. Then one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, which I did not want to be pregnant for. I’m actually really thankful we waited. I thought I was ready in my twenties, but with everything we had going on, it just wouldn’t have been a good situation for us.

Pratt added, “Agreed. I think I’m ready. I know Heidi is ready!”

The couple appears to be back on track financially now, after revealing in 2013 that they’d blown their entire $10 million fortune, and had briefly moved in with Pratt’s parents.

“We were immature and we got caught up,” Pratt told InTouch magazine.

“Every time we’d go out to eat, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000 to $30,000 a day. We thought we were Jay Z and Beyoncé.”
