As Stock Plummets, Lululemon Eyes New Ad Strategy [Reuters]
A less-than-stellar first-quarter fiscal report, which led shares to drop 23 percent, has Lululemon rethinking its strategy — beginning with a greater range of color options, which CEO Laurent Potdevin said will hit stores as early as next week. The poor Q1 report came as a surprise to many, considering the company had strong holiday sales. Moving forward, Lululemon plans to target millennials with its first-ever global ad campaign, due out in mid-May.
BCBG Lays Off More Employees in Bankruptcy Restructuring [California Apparel News]
Lubov Azria isn’t the only employee being asked to pack up her things at BCBG. The California-based retailer, which filed for bankruptcy in February, is letting go 116 employees, effective May 11. The news follows last November’s layoffs, during which the company cut 123 jobs.
